Jade - Newton-le-Willows
About This Spot
Step inside Jade, and you’ll find a quietly familiar corner of Newton-le-Willows where the day’s rhythm slows just enough to appreciate simple, honest comfort food. This is a place where the welcome feels genuine, the pace unhurried, and the focus is firmly on getting you a warm meal that hits just the right note. Whether you’re popping in after a busy day or planning a quick weekend treat, Jade captures a sense of calm efficiency without ever feeling rushed or impersonal.
Jade balances two beloved British staples — classic fish and chips alongside an approachable Chinese takeaway menu — each crafted with care and straightforward authenticity. The smell of freshly fried fish mingles with the savory steam rising from egg foo yung dishes, promising something homey yet satisfying. The hands that prepare your meal know the value of a well-cooked portion, the sort that encourages you to pause, unwrap, and savor.
Although the menu may not be exhaustive, every dish invites a moment of quiet enjoyment rather than flashy variety. From the comforting crackle of batter on fresh fish to the gentle invitation of fried rice or a delicately seasoned foo yung, there’s a reliable consistency that keeps local folks returning. Jade’s portion sizes might lean modest, but they are thoughtfully measured — enough to satisfy without overwhelm, respecting the rhythm of everyday dining.
The takeaway experience itself is smooth and uncomplicated. Whether you’re collecting your order or dialing in a request, there’s a warmth to the interaction, subtle and unassuming. The atmosphere here is not about grand gestures but rather the kind of neighborhood familiarity that quietly strengthens over repeat visits. It’s the kind of place that becomes part of a home routine, cherished for its straightforward goodness rather than flash.
Nearby residents often find in Jade the comforting assurance of a dependable local refuge, where a simple meal can offer a small yet meaningful escape from the ordinary. In that way, Jade feels less like a takeaway and more like a well-known neighbor — one who shows up with something good in hand, exactly when you need it.

The menu is less extensive than some other Chinese takeaways but the quality of the food more than makes up for this. Second time I have visited the Jade and it is now the only local Chinese takeaway I will use in future.

Good takeaway! It's our go to place for fish and chips. Quick and easy ordering and collection, good tasting fish, well cooked chips and nice peas. We even treated ourselves to a sausage, which was nice.

Best fish and Chips in Newton-le-willows, portion size smaller than the Village chippy in Earlestown but still acceptable
